About Bikepacking Reviews

We test gear so you can trust your setup. Whether you're planning your first overnight or your twentieth multi-day adventure, our mission is simple: provide honest, experience-based reviews that help you choose equipment worth carrying.

Our Philosophy

Bikepacking sits at the intersection of cycling performance and backcountry self-sufficiency. That demands gear that's lightweight enough to pedal, durable enough to survive rough trails, and functional enough to keep you comfortable when the sun goes down.

We evaluate every product through that lens—not just specs on paper, but real-world performance on Colorado singletrack, desert gravel, and everything in between.

Founder & Gear Specialist

After years of hauling the wrong gear up mountain passes and learning expensive lessons about what actually works in the backcountry, I started Bikepacking Reviews to save you from making the same mistakes. Based in Boulder, Colorado, I've spent two decades in the mountains—first as a backcountry skier and climber, then as a mountain biker and trail runner. That cross-discipline experience taught me what most gear reviewers miss: the difference between equipment that looks good in a shop and equipment that performs when you're 40 miles from the trailhead with weather rolling in. Every product on this site gets tested on real rides, in real conditions. No sponsored content. No affiliate-driven recommendations. Just honest assessments from someone who's been stranded with gear failures enough times to know what matters.
